Just before we moved (again) last year I created my most complicated pattern so far - 'Jack', a kangaroo for the Australian magazine 'Felt'. I had to make an initial one to work out the basic pattern and then a second one in order to do the demo photographs. Haven't had anyone contact me yet to tell me they've made one though! You can buy the magazine as a back issue here, if you want to try making your own.
Jack one *SOLD*
Jack two *SOLD*
Another couple of little things left over from last year, a little button wheel goose -(*sold*)
- and a vintage style owl clip. Despite their small size, each one took around four hours to make. So for the first time in ages, I've been able to update my shop with needle felt, not art.

I love the little owl- always a favourite of mine. Happy New Year! x Jo
So very cute!
Gretel I wish I could visit you for a needle felting class! I'd bring the cake and tea haha.
Those really are adorable.
I also think the houses in your blog's banner are absolutely darling, especially the super tall one. I want!
Happy new year and take care x
Hey Gretel, another magazine feature......wonderful and it's an Aussie mag. too.
I can peruse it in the Newsagents and do a little 'apple shining' if you know what I mean!
Jack looks wonderful and his hat is just gorgeous.
Love your goose, great colour, wouldn't a flock of them be stunning and of course your owly is just too sweet.
I'm not surprised they take so long to make, your work is superb.....
Claire x
Look at his little hat!! Just gorgeous!
Someone gave me a needlefelting kit for Christmas - still trying to pluck up the courage to have a go!
Bravo Gretel! It's pretty wonderful to have your designs getting shown in a totally different part of the world. Gives a new meaning to Middle of Nowhere, don't you think?
Jack's got so much personality, and I definitely agree that the hat is a brilliant touch!
I'm sure you've seen the Shropshire pages in the January Country Living. Maybe you and Andy moved just in the nick to time!
xo
Wonderful, Gretel. I love being in on the making process.
Lovely to see your new designs and wonderful to know that they are attracting a new audience. X
Both Jack and his cork-dangling hat are a triumph !
Hi, Gretel, i'm coming from Rossichka's blog, and I just want to tell you that I love what you do, and send you a hug and my good vibes from my heart.♥
Hi Gretel, I wish you a happy Valentine's Day!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Hi! What's the number of the magazine issue? I can't find anywhere!
This is issue 8, but as this post is from 2012, it is now out of print. However, it is available to purchase as a digital download here -

If the link does not work, then Google 'Australian Felt Magazine issue 8 2012' which should bring up the right link.
