Dolores

Dolores. Likes knitting, port and lemon and smart shoes that don't quite fit her right.

Sits all day clicking her needles and watching the world go by. Has a mean streak.

And a rather disgruntled look on her face.

Is off to America to live with Janet, where she will eat cake and watch Red Cardinals and Humming Birds. Lucky, lucky Dolores!

Yes, I have finally updated my Etsy shop with a few things - it's good to be back in the saddle at last!

That could have been me sitting for you as that grumpy face is all mine when I'm knitting something hard! Smashing!

She is fab - isn't it funny how our little characters take on a personality all of their own.

Hi Gretel. I love Dolores and I think she has a wonderfully comfy box to travel to America in. So pretty. I wish her a safe journey over the pond.

For some reason, the detail of liking "port and lemon" especially amuses me. I guess that Dolores is an old-fashioned girl. I wonder if she will take up margaritas when she moves to the U.S.?

Bet you wish you could squeeze in that box with her! ;O)

Oh, God I love Delores and her attitude. Gretel, you are a miracle. Every creature you create has such individual characteristics. I don't have smart shoes, but I have loved port and do love lemons....and I so respect her attitude.
Love to you, e.

That Dolores is some character! Every detail in her creation has come together perfectly to make a unique being. (I would not dare ask her if she every drops a stitch!)

So cute! I don't know why but the idea of you making that tiny piece of knitting tickles me, probably because I know how fiddly it must have been!

Years ago I had a neighbour named Dolores! Your Dolores is much prettier, and of course I love her because she is knitting. I had a quick visit to Etsy - the little mole is so gorgeous, but funds won't quite stretch ......

She is wonderful and so is her knitting!

Im completely in love with Dolores and her knitting art! :)

My Dolores was a flaxen-haired doll, who looked a bit of a good-time girl too! Your Dolores will be a challenge to the old folks' home in time, I suspect.....

Great personality profile - could have been me - except for the knitting!

She's an adorable little thing! I love her description, as well.

Oh, charming Dolores! The name suits her so much! I suppose her disgruntled look will change when she eats her first bit of cake in her new home!:) You've prepared her about the voyage with so much care and love! Won't you miss her? I like the heart and the idea of knitting!

Beautiful!

(Maybe one day we could swap houses and catsit for each other!

This is in reply to your comment, by the way - just in case later commenters think I'm a madwoman...)

Oh, I've just read the previous post. The book! I must get it for my prospective grandson. It looks wonderful! Must read on...

Well Gretel Dolores is brilliant! I have really fallen in love with her,,, she is very unique and how clever.
I would love to learn how to do this!

Your Dolores is wonderful. As I read this post I thought of Franklin Habit's Dolores. She's Dolores Van Hoofen and she's a hoot.
