In the middle of deadline Hell and hurtling towards them at a frightening velocity, this is short and sweet - what, no long naval gazing ramblings with a gazillion photos? No.
Cathy asked to see some drawings, but for the last half year nearly all my drawing has been filling sketchbooks with roughs and prep for my three jobs and so can't be shown etc etc. But sometimes, when I am falling asleep and doing my diary, I do a bit of impromptu scribbling, in the back, to save for a later day. Although one was told *never* to use a biro for sketching, I like them and if it's all there is in your hand, then use it. Usually these scribblings are one of the cats - Clover is a favourite as she lumps herself into such comfy poses. One day, when I have my life back, this will be turned into a big three colour lino print.

That look says "Go away". I love this.
And I will beg for a print...it reminds of my wonderful orange tabby, Whisper. Whisper rode home in a paper lunch sack in my sons hands, on the back of a bike, when he was a few weeks old. I remember he kept poking his little head out the top of the bag and my son Sean would scream"Mommy...he's trying to escape!" Sweet Whisper was a part of our family for 21 years when one day he decided he was very tired and we said goodbye. That was a very sad day, but we found joy in the fact that for him to have stayed 21 years, he must have liked us....;-)
Thanks for this little reminder Gretel...your art touches hearts and this is why someone in America loves you.

Oh we LOVE Clover! Especially her expression!! We're sending you purrs and support to get through all your jobs but don't forget to take time to breathe now and again.
Lovely sketch, thanks for sharing it with us!
PG, keep going...you will emerge with victory from deadline alley.
That Clover surely does know how to fill a space! I'd definitely save sketchbook pages for that cat.

Thanks for taking time out and giving us a tidbit. Your wonderful drawing almost makes me wish that I had a lazy, fat cat to sprawl upon my pillows...lovely!
Nothing like a big fat bagpuss of a cat. Love it.
Lovely, Gretel. Have you ever needle-felted one of your cats? (I mean, a model of one, obviously; try doing it to a live one and it would needle you back, with added language.)
Great design shape! I make most of my (better) drawings with a biro. Good luck with those deadlines!xx
I LOVE drawing with biro - you can make them all scribbly and textured!
We like Clover :)
That little morsel was very satisfying.Just enough to keep us going.
Love her.
and her name.
What a delightfully disdainful cat.
"Oh lovely Pussy! O Pussy,my love,
What a beautiful Pussy you are,
You are!You are!
What a beautiful Pussy you are!
I wonder what colour she is? My guess is tabby. You say it will be a three colour print and I see that
the cushion is green and orange stripes.
I look forward to seeing it once the deadline bogies are dealt with.
Good luck with the deadlines - love the sketch - that cat has attitude! Happy Easter!
eeeeek, deadlines, hate 'em! thanks for taking the time to give us a gander at Clover.
I love to draw in biro, though I can often hear 'the voice' telling me not to. A really nice soft biro can do so many textures and, as you say, it's often what's in your hand. Love the expression - 'clear off and draw something else'
I often put down ideas in biro, usually the closest thing to hand and easy to use. I love you sketch, you have your cat's character in just a few lines, how clever is that?
Cathy
Your work is beautiful in any medium! By the way, I just wanted to let you know I nominated you for the Sunshine Blog award. Come on over to my blog to collect it!
Jennie :)
Well such she has character for sure. Looks like she has no worries...
Hope you are doing well.
Hugs,
That's the attitude Clover! :-)
