Into October

Thank you so much everyone for the lovely congratulations; I truly appreciate it. At certain stages in my life I always feel sad that I can't share them with my mum and dad. I know that they would have been so proud. But next to that, having support from my blog and real-life friends is wonderful.

Life is falling back into a familiar pattern; for the first time in a few years, I have two *proper* jobs on (not to mention 101 little chores on an ever growing list). So I divide my time neatly into work and play. I heave myself out every morning to cycle and return, refreshed, to ensconce myself in the studio. This is what happened when I was lazy and dipped my paint bowl into the water jar.

Slipped out of my fingers and sank to the bottom. Luckily it was easily saved.

On Andy's days off we go out walking. This week we discovered a nice new route nearby, in a village dripping with history, as recorded here on Cotswold Peeps. Today we have a turning - light drizzle gusted in on fresh winds. The cats know and have called a truce. This is the real sign that the weather is on the change;

The weather is changing here also. Rapidly. It's most welcome for all of us. I woke up this morning with both dogs at the foot of the bed. A sure sign of cooler temperatures!

We haven't had rain today, but it's definitely been windy. I'm just surprised how green the trees still are...by now we've usually got a garden full of leaves.

I love the photos from your trails...

We're getting lovely cooler weather here also and my cats have started snuggling up with me at night. The cool weather has promped a flurry of yard work for me and I'm really enjoying it! Those kitty lumps on your sofa are so precious!

Nice selection of cats you have there, Gretel, all doing what cats do best.

The bowl in the water would be interesting to paint, I think.

Such an array of colors in your cats! and a cozy spot to sleep.

Well, you've just tugged at my heart and soul with that Peeps posts, and now I see the indoors post over here.

I am so glad for your good news, and know that much more will follow. You've got a unique talent that speaks so well to those who've got their eyes and heart open.

Cheers!

I'm glad your little painting bowl didn't break. It's comforting to know I'm not the only one to be clumsy, although you'd have to go a way to beat my latest caper. I've just sawed through the top of a table by mistake. I am so in trouble tonight!

Your cats look so cosy, bless them :)

What a cosy cottage scene, have you ever dipped your paint brush into a cup of tea? I do it all the time!

we had some snowflakes over the weekend.... lots of leaves down now... although because we had such warm weather so late..lots are still pretty green as well. tomorrow will be +14C...but then.... yikes!....-10 by the end of the week.... it was too great to last...it's time now....

I know what you mean by not being able to share little moments with your Mum....mine never did get to see my bears or dolls. I began making them the year after she died.... I sure do miss being able to pick up the phone and call her to tell her of little successes...she was our biggest cheerleader all of our lives.

PG, just catching up as I've been away, so late congrats on your wonderful news. I was saying to someone only the other days how colder it was getting. Very wet here today(typical). Me thinks time for the wood burner to be lit!

Your cats are wise, and very respectful. Everyone is in a sofa's corner, curled and in the "don't disturb" position.
Well, here the weather is mad. It's like springtime, and we don't know what we have to wear. Rita is in on position all the time, I'm looking forward for the on one!
We want autumn, we want autumn!

Moving into fall evokes a nice cozy feeling. It makes me want to curl up on the couch like your kitties. Enjoy your time of creativity.
