The end is in sight! One last stretch to destination end-of-book-job. More plasters on the painting hands. More matchsticks to prop up the eyes. More audio books to keep my weary attention span going. But yes, the end is definitely in sight. Just one last push...

Waving encouragingly from the other side of the world; thinking it will be a lovely book, even without toys. ;~)
YAAAY for nearing completion - good luck with the last few bits and bobs!
And there's even a bit of summer left, said amidst the rumble and crash of thunder, for you to enjoy! Do we get a sneak peek or is that against all the rules?
I hope your fingers and thumbs and wrists and elbows aren't too sore by the end!
I'm intrigued to know what the end product will look like. :)
"Keep right on to the end of the road,
Keep right on to the end,
Tho' the way be long, let your heart be strong,
Keep right on round the bend.
Tho' you're tired and weary still journey on,
Till you come to your happy abode,
Where all the love you've been dreaming of
Will be there at the end of the road."
I hope you are able to post your commission soon, good luck!
It's grand to know that you are almost there, and have kept your fine wit intact throughout your progress.
Best wishes to you. Like many others, I so want to see what you have been creating! And hope that you will have a fine bit of a rest, and some self-indulgence, when that finish line has been crossed.
xo
I hope you have something perfectly lovely and rejuvinating planned for yourself as a reward for all your hard work. (It becomes very necessary, I find!)
Best wishes to you - as I get started on my own, next marathon.
The feeling is so sweet when the job is done and the "nearly there " is behind you. Best of luck with it all. I know you have been so busy so I thought I would send you a cheerio and a thanks for stopping by. Always lovely to hear from you, and, wish me luck with my Gocco(Im too scared to use it)

I love this little ancient piece :)
Very looking forward to seeing the result. And do you have the Lord of the Rings radio 4 dramatization audio book? It's 13 cds long - great for long projects :)

OOh, I can't wait to see!!
Edward, too!
Hooray...the tunnel exit is only just around that corner. Not long now.
I love the old piece, is that a lino print? One of yours?
Thanks Sue! No, it is a little scraperboard thing I did, actually about the samed size as seen on screen. I kind of miss scraperboard, might have to dig my stash out.
You can do it! Go Gretel go!
Good luck! I hope you treat yourself to something wonderful for completing your project!
Well done!! Hope you have finished now and have time and energy for a grand spoil yourself fest. I am stuck in the middle of four such things all running at the same time, trying to do them as well as my few gardening jobs and walk the dog too, unfortunatly I keep looking at the deadline and thinking...ahhh, dosnt really matter!! Not a good attitude!
Yes, You can do it!!!
Your art is absolutely beautiful.
Your blog is plenty of great fonts of inspiration.
Thank you indeed for sharing.
Kind regards from Tuscany.

The final push! I know you can do it. And when it's all done, you can recharge and treat yourself- I'll be thinking of you over here and sending some energy.
Well done Gretel - hope you have a treat lined up for when you've finished. I'm just about to start a marathon of illustration - you'll have to give me tips on survival!
Ok so it's August the 19th, you've got to have finished by now.......C'mon let's see the end result !!
Ah, Mr Gent, how wrong you are...I still have a little bit left to do, and I can't show and tell until it is in the public domain - this being publishing, that will be a few months. Don't get too excited...
Oh I wish you all the success in the world. I so enjoy your work.
Miss checking in on you.
It has been such a hard summer for me. Hope to get back to blogging soon!
Love and hugs,
