Woolly scrimshaw

Some of the new designs I worked on over the Christmas period, looking at antique scrimshaw folk art and converting the style into my own versions.

  7. Scrimshaw art translated into fiber. You've done this so beautifully, Gretel. Did I ever mention to you that my Dad did some scrimsaw carving, greatly inspired by this traditional sailors' craft? I'm lucky to have a sample of his work.

It is wonderful to see where your imagination, curiosity and talents take you.

  11. How positively delightful and whimsical. Whoever heard of a felted whale? We are moving aboard a sailboat soon and I thought felting wouldn't go with my new nautical life, but you have proven me wrong.
    Cheers,
